Job summary

Mott MacDonald is hiring a Quantity Surveyor to support defence sector programmes across complex infrastructure and equipment projects in secure environments. You will apply NEC4 practices, manage cashflow, and ensure governance and value for money on high-profile UK defence projects.

The role offers hybrid working with opportunities to collaborate across our APD team and with MOD/DIO clients, contributing to national capability and resilience while developing specialist expertise in defence

Qualifications

• Degree qualified (or equivalent).
• NEC4 contract experience.
• Working towards or holding MRICS (or equivalent).
• Experience in complex infrastructure or engineering projects within regulated environments.
• Experience managing contract cashflow, change, and governance.
• Experience using NEC4 ECC and/or PSC contracts.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Desirable: NEC 4 accreditation; NEC4 Project Manager Accreditation; Experience in defence environments (infrastructure, equipment, or nuclear).

Responsibilities

• Administer NEC4 contracts in line with defence project and governance requirements.
• Manage variations, change control, and compensation events in a compliant manner.
• Maintain cost control, forecasting, and reporting across defence programmes.
• Support delivery of infrastructure and equipment-related projects within secure environments.
• Work closely with client and contractor teams to achieve delivery outcomes and value for money.
• Ensure adherence to defence governance, assurance, and security requirements.

Skills

NEC4 contract experience

NEC4 ECC and/or PSC contract

Experience managing contract cashflow,

Strong cost control and estimating

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Experience using CEMAR

Education

Degree qualified (or equivalent)
