Job summary

AECOM in Birmingham is seeking a Senior Cost Manager to join our growing Cost Management team. You will lead projects through the full lifecycle from inception to completion, mentor junior staff, and deliver cost estimates, cost plans and procurement advice.

The role emphasizes client liaison, value engineering and risk management across commercial, industrial, logistics, residential and education sectors in the UK. We offer hybrid working, career development and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Degree Qualified – BSc or MSc – in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management.
• Professional Qualified – Chartered Status with the RICS.
• Proven experience in Cost Management delivering a full spectrum across projects.
• Proven ability to advise clients and design teams on cost, value and risk.
• Strong IT skills and digital measurement, cost planning and tender documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective support, mentoring and line management to Project Surveyors / Cost Managers, Graduates and Apprentices.
• Leading projects from a Cost Management perspective from inception to completion.
• Production of cost estimates, cost plans, procurement and tendering advice, through to post-contract delivery of valuations, change control, reporting and final account.
• Taking responsibility for the delivery of projects and managing support teams.
• Ensures commissions are managed and completed efficiently, on time and to the client’s satisfaction.
• Develops strong reciprocal relationships with clients and members of the project team.
• Be an interface with AECOM clients (new and existing).
