Job summary

AECOM in Birmingham is seeking an Associate Cost Manager to drive cost management across projects from inception to delivery. You will lead teams, advise clients and design teams on cost, value and risk, and mentor junior staff.

The role sits in a hybrid working model within our Birmingham Cost Management team, with opportunities across Commercial, Industrial, Logistics, Residential and Education markets.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or Cost Management (BSc/MSc).
• Chartered status with RICS or equivalent professional recognition.
• Proven experience in cost management across full project lifecycles.
• Ability to advise clients and design teams on cost, value and risk.
• Demonstrate leadership potential and strong client relationships.
• Excellent IT skills and use of cost planning and tender documentation tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver cost management commissions to meet time, budget and quality targets.
• Strengthen client relationships by delivering exceptional service and value.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development and knowledge sharing.
• Support bids, business development, and professional growth within the organisation.
