Job summary

Arcadis UK is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Cost & Commercial Management team, supporting resilience water sector projects in the Reading and London area. You will lead a team, administer NEC contracts, assess changes, and keep projects within governance and budget.

This role requires strong cost control, forecasting, and value engineering, with client liaison and leadership of junior staff.

Qualifications

Demonstrates self-management and prioritisation with ability to work under pressure.
Good knowledge of construction processes and cost/ commercial management in a consultancy setting.
NEC Contract experience.
Ability to lead and coach junior staff on projects typically ranging £5m–£40m.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to influence stakeholders and third parties.
Knowledge of procurement routes, value management and value engineering.

Responsibilities

Leading a team alongside the Commission Lead and managing post-contract administration of NEC contracts, including change assessments and payments.
Establishing professional relationships with clients and project parties to support delivery.
Maintain cost monitoring, forecasting and reporting to completion in line with budget.
Monitor cost variance and contract cash flow to ensure timely and accurate applications.
Collaborate with client and commercial teams to manage delivery of KPIs, cost control and value engineering.
Provide risk and value management advice and run related meetings as needed.
Manage client relationships and explore new business opportunities.
Analyse data to identify themes and support cost/ commercial decisions.
Lead people and commissions as required.
Ensure final accounts are audited, negotiated and agreed.
