Job summary

Arcadis in the UK is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Cost & Commercial Management team supporting our resilience water sector projects in Reading and London. You will lead post-contract administration, manage cost monitoring, and ensure governance and value engineering.

The role requires NEC contract experience, client liaison, mentoring junior staff, and the ability to deliver projects from inception to completion within £5m–£40m scopes.

Qualifications

• Strong self-management and ability to prioritise under pressure.
• Solid knowledge of construction processes and cost/CM in consultancy.
• Experience with NEC contracts.
• Ability to manage junior staff on projects (£5m–£40m).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of procurement routes, value management and value engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team and manage post-contract administration of NEC contracts.
• Establish professional relationships with clients and project teams.
• Provide accurate cost monitoring, forecasting and reporting.
• Manage cost variance and cash flow across gateways.
• Collaborate with client/commercial teams to deliver KPIs and value engineering.
• Provide risk and value management meetings as required.
• Manage client relationships and pursue new business opportunities.
• Analyse data to identify trends and inform decisions.
• Lead commissions and junior staff as needed.
• Ensure final accounts are audited, negotiated and agreed.
