Job summary
Siemens Energy in the United Kingdom is seeking a Principal Controls Applications Engineer to design and deliver advanced control systems for gas turbine modification and upgrade projects. You will lead end-to-end engineering from installation to commissioning and mentor junior staff on technical best practices.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in control & instrumentation engineering.
- Advanced knowledge of PLC, DCS and SCADA systems.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status desirable.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and quality assurance.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and engineer sophisticated control system solutions for gas turbine modification and upgrade projects.
- Create and interpret essential technical documentation including P&IDs, electrical schematics and system architecture diagrams.
- Manage the technical execution of control system projects, ensuring quality, budget and schedule constraints.
- Lead on-site activities such as installation supervision and system testing, ensuring smooth handover.
- Act as a technical authority, mentoring junior engineers while interfacing with project managers and stakeholders to define requirements.
