Cambridge Aerospace is seeking a Senior Gas Turbine Controls Engineer to own the design, specification and development of control systems for our gas turbine engines. You will define the control architecture and work with software, modelling, and turbomachinery engineers to deliver reliable operation across the operating envelope.

You will translate control strategies from simulation into embedded implementation and test, guiding model- and hardware-in-the-loop activities.

Qualifications

• Experience owning gas turbine control-system requirements through integration and test.
• Strong understanding of gas turbine dynamics, transient behavior, operability limits and protection.
• Experience designing and tuning feedback controls, scheduling and state-machine logic.
• Experience specifying sensors, fuel metering systems and engine actuators.
• Practical data analysis and fault diagnosis on engine test data.
• Familiarity with model-based design standards and embedded software approaches.

Responsabilités

• Own engine control system architecture, requirements and specifications from concept through validation.
• Develop control strategies for starting, acceleration, steady-state operation and shutdown.
• Define sensing, actuation, ECU requirements, interfaces and fault handling.
• Collaborate with modelling/simulation and turbomachinery engineers to set limits.
• Translate strategies into robust real-time embedded implementations.
• Plan and support model-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop testing and calibration.
• Lead control-system design reviews and verification activities.
