Job summary

John Sisk & Son Ltd is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead Civil Engineering projects across preconstruction, construction & delivery, and close-out phases. The role requires delivering multiple projects with strong technical knowledge, NEC3/JCT contracts, and a robust leadership style in a dynamic environment.

You will manage programme development, resource allocation, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring safety, quality and commercial performance.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification in a construction-related field.
• IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent) Health & Safety certification.
• Temporary Works Coordinator training and Excavation Safety training.
• Knowledge of permitting for live energy works.
• Training in Working at Heights, Scaffolding and Lifting & Cranage operations.
• Familiarity with Behavioural Safety, Root Cause Analysis, and PSCS/CDM requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of project programmes, method statements, and contract submissions.
• Develop and manage the contract programme with Estimating team during tender stage.
• Instruct the QS on major preliminary expenditure.
• Chair project start-up and production meetings and support resource allocation.
• Oversee subcontract buying schedule and site logistics registers with health & safety considerations.
• Lead project team functions including PEP, risk management, commercial performance, HSEQS and stakeholder engagement.
• Coordinate design delivery and BIM delivery where applicable.
• Monitor progress, review buildability, and drive timely completion and issue resolution.
• Lead subcontractor selection, progression meetings, and commercial reporting.
• Lead defect management and final accounts, and client handover.
