Job summary

VGC in the North Midlands is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee delivery packages on a major water infrastructure programme. You will drive safety, budgets and programme compliance while ensuring quality standards are met.

You will lead project managers, site teams and subcontractors, manage risk, forecasts and variations under NEC contracts, and maintain strong client relationships. A background in heavy civils, earthworks or drainage and a valid CSCS/SMSTS and full UK driving

Qualifications

Proven experience as Contracts Manager within civil engineering.
Strong NEC contracts knowledge and commercial awareness.
Experience leading multiple teams and subcontractors in heavy civils projects.

Responsibilities

Oversee planning, mobilisation and delivery of civil work packages.
Provide leadership to project managers, site teams and subcontractors.
Monitor programmes, budgets and resources and identify risks.
Collaborate with commercial on forecasting, cost control and variations.
Manage client, principal contractor, designers and wider supply chain relationships.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
Coordinate labour, plant and materials allocation.
Review progress against milestones and provide operational reporting.
Support resolution of technical and contractual issues to maintain progress.
Oversee completion, handover and close-out of packages.
