Senior Consultant - Banking and Financial Services

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Banking Consultant to lead our consulting team and provide expert guidance to our clients in the banking sector. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of banking operations especially in the area of regulatory, risk & audit covering financial products, and market trends, along with exceptional leadership and client management skills.

This role requires a strong balance of sales acumen, consulting delivery expertise, and a deep understanding of banking areas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving business growth, overseeing complex consulting engagements, and positioning the organization as a trusted partner for digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales and Business Development

  1. Develop and execute strategies to identify, pursue, and win new IPA consulting opportunities.
  2. Build and manage a robust sales pipeline by engaging with C-suite executives and senior business leaders.
  3. Partner with internal stakeholders to craft compelling proposals, business cases, and value propositions tailored to client needs.
  4. Foster long-term client relationships to drive revenue growth, cross-sell opportunities, and repeat engagements.
  5. Track industry trends and develop go-to-market strategies for IPA, process consulting, and operations consulting offerings.

Consulting Delivery

  1. Lead the delivery of complex client’s business and technology transformation programs, ensuring high-quality outcomes and alignment with client objectives.
  2. Oversee process consulting initiatives to analyze, redesign, and enhance end-to-end business processes.
  3. Collaborate with clients to define and execute operations consulting projects, driving efficiency, cost savings, and business transformation.
  4. Manage project teams, ensuring resource optimization, client satisfaction, and delivery excellence.
  5. Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing thought leadership on industry best practices and emerging technologies.

Leadership and Collaboration

Strategic Planning: Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans to enhance client banking operations and profitability.

  1. Market Analysis: Monitor economic trends and market changes to provide clients with up-to-date advice and recommendations.
  2. Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of banking consultants, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  3. Compliance: Ensure all consulting activities comply with industry regulations and internal policies.
  4. Thought Leadership: Contribute to the development of thought leadership materials, including white papers and industry reports.

Domain Knowledge:

Prior experience in the Banking space covering a few departments that may include Retail Banking, Wealth Management, Credit Cards, Payments, Corporate Banking, Treasury, Securities Services, Trade Services, Factoring etc.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  2. Experience: Extensive experience in banking or financial consulting, with at least a few years in a leadership role.
  3. Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and presentation abilities, and proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
  4. Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
  5. Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills with senior executives.
  6. Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt, PMP, or similar are a plus.
