Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) Senior Advisor – Correspondent Banking

London

Due to business requirements, we are seeking an experienced FCC Senior Advisor.

  • Please note that this is a hybrid role with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Act as the 2LOD contact point for FB UK’s Correspondent Banking relationships.
  2. Ensure controls are in place to mitigate risks from Correspondent and Respondent Banking relationships and that these controls are tested effectively.
  3. Collaborate with the Business as it expands the client base capable of passing MT103s through the Bank.
  4. Assess policies, procedures, systems, and controls of FB UK’s Respondent Banks to meet UK regulatory standards.
  5. Conduct onsite visits to Respondent Banks to assess compliance culture and perform sample checks of customer due diligence (CDD) files.
  6. Draft detailed Risk Assessment reports on respondent Bank Financial Crime Frameworks.
  7. Support respondent banks in developing systems and controls to address gaps in their FCC frameworks and provide training as needed.
  8. Provide daily oversight and support to the Correspondent Banking team, ensuring high performance and achievement of objectives.

Key Skills/Experience:

Essential:

  • Significant experience in financial crime compliance within the financial services sector.
  • Experience with Correspondent Banking products and services.
  • Understanding of the UK Regulatory framework, laws, regulations, and guidance related to Correspondent Banking.
  • Experience in audit, accounting, or regulatory roles.
  • Experience working with internal auditors and regulators.

Ideal:

  • Experience working with banks outside the UK, especially West Africa.
  • Participation in UK financial crime associations and a strong network of professionals.
  • Experience in 1LOD roles.
