Job summary

Taylor Root Dusseldorf is sourcing a Senior Construction Lawyer to join the London-based construction team within a leading Real Estate practice. The role covers procurement strategies, contract negotiations (JCT, NEC, FIDIC) and transaction support on major real estate and financing deals.

The right candidate will have 6+ years’ PQE, strong drafting ability, and a track record leading transactions and mentoring junior lawyers, including complex data centre and infrastructure matters.

Qualifications

• 6+ years’ post-qualification experience in construction law.
• Experience on major construction deals with strong technical aptitude.
• Drafting and negotiating standard form and bespoke construction agreements (JCT and FIDIC essential).
• Experience covering development agreements and forward funding.
• Ability to lead transactions, mentor juniors and manage client negotiations.
• Interest in technology-driven legal solutions and cutting-edge projects.

Responsibilities

The Role

You will join the London-based Construction team within the award-winning Real Estate practice. This is a stand-alone team that is highly integrated with other practice groups and handles premium mandates for developers, investors, lenders, and sponsors across all asset classes. The scope of work is diverse, covering procurement strategies, advisory and negotiation of construction contracts, and transaction support on large-scale real estate and financing deals.

The team is recognised for thought leadership in construction law and has been involved in some of the most significant developments in the London market. A particularly exciting growth area is its specialised work on data centre projects, where the firm is regarded as a key player, advising on procurement, risk management, and construction aspects for major technology and infrastructure investments.
