Job summary

Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment is seeking a talented non-contentious Construction Lawyer to join a leading international practice in London. You’ll advise on procurement and delivery of major projects, draft and negotiate contracts, and collaborate with specialists across an international network.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years’ PQE, or equivalent experience.
• Strong front-end construction experience gained within a recognised practice.
• Experience drafting and negotiating construction and engineering documentation.
• Excellent technical, drafting and communication skills.
• A practical and commercially focused approach.
• The ability to manage complex matters and work collaboratively.
• E&W qualification is preferred, but candidate qualified in common law jurisdictions will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Advise on the procurement and delivery of major construction and engineering projects.

• Advise on standard-form and bespoke contracts, including JCT, NEC and FIDIC.
• Support clients with procurement strategy, contractual structures and risk allocation.
• Work across sectors including infrastructure, energy, real estate and transport.
• Collaborate with colleagues across multiple practice areas and international offices.
• Build strong relationships with developers, investors, contractors, funders and other project stakeholders.
