Job summary

BAM is seeking a Senior Engineer for a Meath-based project. The role requires proven construction/civils/logistics experience, strong leadership, and a proactive approach.

You will coordinate budgets, schedules, safety and quality systems, and manage subcontractor relationships in a dynamic site environment. The successful candidate will contribute to delivering large-scale infrastructure with emphasis on safety, efficiency, and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Construction/Engineering/Logistics.
• Proven track record delivering construction/civils/logistics operations.
• Management skills: control and management of employees.
• Commercially aware with excellent organisational skills.
• Excellent communication skills with customer focus.
• Strong interpersonal skills and collaboration.
• Leadership and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and proactive approach.
• Team-based delivery of departmental/project objectives.

Responsibilities

• Prepare programme and working budget with your manager; synchronise with labour and plant budgets, prioritise activities.
• Identify and analyse problem areas with cost or programme implications and implement solutions.
• Manage information flow and documentation; ensure contract-related records are prepared timely.
• Check outputs, quantities, costs on a weekly basis and report to Tendering on variances.
• Manage project cash flow with PQS and your manager per Commercial Procedures.
• Report monthly on progress vs programme, cost vs budget, and cost to completion.
• Procure, negotiate and let subcontract/supplier packages with PQS and purchasing input; control material calls.
• Implement QMS on site and ensure Site Quality Plan aligns with requirements.
• Implement SMS on site and ensure Site Safety Plan is followed by all personnel.
• Review and approve temporary works methods and ensure compliance.
