Job summary

Saab UK is seeking an experienced Senior Compliance Engineer for the Fareham Seahub. The role focuses on maintaining regulatory compliance across CE, UL, FCC and industry standards, with collaboration across internal development, production and external test labs to plan accreditation and ensure compliant product solutions.

Ideal candidates will hold a degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and possess knowledge of EN 61010, EN 60204 and EMC requirements, with strong communication skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, graduate certificate or Diploma in Electrical / Electronic Engineering.
• Working knowledge EN 61010 and EN 60204 LVD safety standards.
• Working knowledge of EMC standards and directives for CE / FCC.
• Environmental testing knowledge under CE LVD safety standards.
• Understanding of mechanical principles associated with components / assemblies.
• Working knowledge of electronic systems / assemblies in relation to components, PCB's, wiring.
• Self-starter able to prioritise workload and deliver standard work.
• Able to work as an individual and as part of a team delivering with equal performance.

Responsibilities

• Control and maintain compliance of the company's products to applicable national and international regulatory standards (CE, UL, FCC) and industry guidelines (DNV, Norsok, IMCA, Lloyds Register).
• Create and maintain technical files and declarations that satisfy the requirements of the above standards and directives.
• Monitor and report on new and updated regulations and standards and their impacts on the company's products.
• Liaise with internal development and production teams and external test laboratories and notified bodies to plan, coordinate and execute test accreditation activities.
• Analyse test results and use findings to update compliance verification and test plans and guide design engineering teams.
• Report on and present product compliance status to internal stakeholders and auditors.
• Create technical compliance assessments in response to end user contractual requirements.
• Contribute to design reviews and release of new products ensuring suitability for standards accreditation.
• Participate in the engineering change process to maintain ongoing product compliance.
• Contribute to continual development and improvement of department processes and knowledge sharing.
• National and occasional international travel in support of company objectives.
• Conduct activities professionally and pursue ongoing personal development.
• Undertake any other duties as required by supervision.
