Job summary

Saab UK is seeking an experienced Compliance Engineer to join our underwater robotics unit in Fareham. You will oversee product compliance with CE, UL, FCC and other standards, maintaining technical files and coordinating with internal teams and external labs.

The role requires a strong background in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, EN 61010/60204, EMC, and environmental testing. Occasional travel and collaboration with senior stakeholders are integral to this position.

Qualifications

• Essential: Bachelor's degree, graduate certificate or Diploma in Electrical / Electronic Engineering.
• Working knowledge EN 61010 and EN 60204 LVD safety standards.
• Working knowledge of EMC standards and directives for CE / FCC.
• Working knowledge of environmental testing under CE LVD safety standards.
• Understanding of mechanical principles for manufactured components / assemblies.
• Working knowledge of electronic systems / assemblies (PCBs, wiring).
• Self-starter who can prioritise workload and deliver standard work.
• Able to work independently and in a team delivering with equal performance.
• Confident to interact with 3rd party service providers and with all levels of staff.

Responsibilities

• Control and maintain compliance of products to national and international standards (CE, UL, FCC).
• Create and maintain technical files and declarations for standards and directives.
• Monitor and report on new regulations and their impact on products.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external labs to plan test accreditation.
• Analyse test results to update compliance verification and test plans.
• Report on compliance status to stakeholders and auditors.
• Create technical compliance assessments for end-user requirements.
• Contribute to design review and product releases for standards accreditation.
• Participate in engineering change to maintain ongoing compliance.
• Suggest improvements to department processes and share best practices.
• Travel nationally and occasionally internationally as required.
