Job summary

Saab UK, part of Saab Seaeye in Fareham, is seeking a Senior Compliance Engineer to ensure product compliance across CE, UL and FCC, and to manage technical files and regulator interactions. The role collaborates with development and production teams, test laboratories, and external bodies to deliver compliant solutions.

The position requires knowledge of safety standards (EN 61010, EN 60204), EMC directives, and environmental testing, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Knowledge of EN 61010 and EN 60204 LVD safety standards.
• Experience with EMC standards and directives (CE / FCC).
• Experience with environmental testing related to CE LVD safety standards.
• Understanding of mechanical principles in manufactured components/assemblies.
• Knowledge of PCB layout and component recognition, wiring and assemblies.
• Able to prioritise workload and work both independently and in teams.
• Able to interact with 3rd party service providers and senior management.

Responsibilities

• Control and maintain product compliance to CE, UL, FCC and industry standards.
• Create and maintain technical files and declarations.
• Monitor new regulations and assess impact on products.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external test laboratories.
• Analyze test results and update compliance verification plans.
• Report on compliance status to stakeholders and auditors.
• Contribute to design reviews for new products and upgrades.
• Support engineering change processes to maintain compliance.
• Travel nationally and occasionally internationally to support objectives.
