Job summary

Saab UK, part of Scandinavia's defence group, is seeking an experienced Senior Compliance Engineer for our Fareham Seaeye unit. You will ensure product compliance across CE, UL, FCC regimes and support marine robotics products.

You will work with design and production teams, prepare technical files, liaise with labs and notified bodies, and help deliver compliant, certifiable systems worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering.
• Knowledge EN 61010 and EN 60204 LVD safety standards.
• Knowledge of EMC standards and CE / FCC directives.
• Knowledge of environmental testing per CE LVD safety standards.
• Understanding of mechanical principles related to components / assemblies.
• Knowledge of electronic systems / PCB wiring.
• Self-starter able to prioritise workload and deliver.
• Able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Personable and approachable.
• Confident to interact with 3rd party service providers and with all levels of staff including senior managers & directors.

Responsibilities

• Control and maintain compliance of the company’s products to CE, UL and FCC and industry standards (DNV, Norsok, IMCA and Lloyds Register).
• Create and maintain technical files and declarations to satisfy the standards and directives.
• Monitor and report on new/updated regulations and their impact on products.
• Coordinate with internal development/production teams and external labs/notified bodies for test accreditation.
• Analyse test results and update compliance verification plans and provide guidance to design teams.
• Report on and present product compliance status to stakeholders and auditors.
• Create technical compliance assessments in response to end-user contractual requirements.
• Contribute to design reviews and product releases to ensure standards accreditation.
• Participate in engineering change processes to maintain ongoing compliance.
• Contribute to process improvements and share best practices.
• Travel nationally and occasionally internationally.
• Maintain professional conduct and pursue ongoing skills development.
• Undertake other duties as required.
