Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment is partnering with a cluster of schools in Harrogate and North Yorkshire to recruit experienced complex needs assistants for ages 4 to 19. You will join their SEN teams to support learners with a range of learning, physical, medical, communication and sensory needs in an inclusive, nurturing environment.

The role requires confident, dedicated staff who can work across age groups, manage challenging behaviours, assist with personal care, and help learners regulate

Qualifications

• Experience supporting complex physical, medical and learning needs.
• Knowledge of Autism, Asperger's, Down syndrome and related needs.
• Willingness to assist with personal care and changing requirements.
• Ability to engage learners with interactive play and sensory sessions.
• Strong SEN knowledge and the ability to support learners with varying needs.

Responsibilities

• Support children aged 4–19 with a range of complex needs across settings.
• Work within the SEN team to maintain an inclusive, nurturing environment.
• Assist with personal care, safety and de-escalation techniques as needed.
• Use behavioural strategies to help learners regulate emotions and participate in activities.
