Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd is seeking a dedicated SEN Assistant to support pupils aged 4-19 with physical disabilities and complex needs at a specialist school in Sevenoaks. You will aid learning, personal care, mobility and independence throughout the school day, including the residential provision.

The role involves assisting in lessons, personal and intimate care, moving and handling with specialist equipment, and supporting communication and independence.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or vulnerable groups in a school setting.
• Practical Moving & Handling training completed.
• GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.
• Caring, patient and resilient attitude.
• Makaton is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in lessons and around school.
• Provide personal care and intimate care as required.
• Assist with moving and handling using specialist equipment.
• Support communication and independence for pupils.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and care staff to create a safe, positive learning environment.
