As a Senior Communications Business Partner, you will oversee internal and external communications strategies for our Building and Building Services divisions, reporting to the Skanska UK Communications Director.

What you'll do:
  • Develop and execute communication strategies and plans (internal and external) for assigned units, including tactical activities.
  • Advise executives on communication tactics, strategies, and responses.
  • Implement B2B and account-based marketing strategies, including events, email campaigns, and paid social media, aligned with Skanska’s brand and value proposition.
  • Enhance employee engagement and internal change initiatives through targeted communications, leadership updates, news, and town-hall meetings (digital and in-person).
  • Manage relationships with target media, pitch editorial opportunities, and handle crisis communications.
  • Oversee Group Press Releases in compliance with stock market regulations and governance, coordinating with Investor Relations and clients.
  • Contribute to the UK communication strategy and support the development of the communications department to align with overall business goals.
  • Lead and develop a direct report, an experienced communications business partner.
What you'll bring:
  • Experience in a senior in-house communications role covering core disciplines.
  • Proven expertise in media relations, crisis management, and B2B marketing.
  • Excellent writing skills and strategic thinking ability.
  • Strong decision-making skills combining strategic insight and practical implementation.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence at all levels, including senior leadership.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and adaptable mindset.
  • Resilience and agility to prioritize and manage multiple demands.

A relevant degree (e.g., English, journalism, marketing, PR) and experience in construction, facilities management, or engineering industries are advantageous.

Location

The role is based at Skanska UK's head office in Watford, with frequent travel to our London office at 51 Moorgate. We support flexible working arrangements, expecting at least three days in the office or visiting projects, with flexibility for the remaining two days based on work needs.
