Job summary

West One Loans is seeking a Senior Underwriter – Commercial to take ownership of the lending process from application to drawdown, ensuring adherence to underwriting criteria and regulatory standards.

You will manage a pipeline of commercial cases, develop intermediary relationships, mentor junior underwriters, and uphold TCF and responsible lending principles while working in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous underwriting experience in Commercial Finance
• Strong understanding of FCA regulation
• CeMAP desirable, not essential

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire lending process from application through to drawdown and ensure adherence to underwriting and due diligence processes
• Manage a pipeline of Commercial cases and prioritise accordingly
• Develop and maintain key Intermediary relationships
• Ensure all applications comply with West One lending criteria
• Instruct Solicitors once an offer is made and provide all relevant documentation
• Support team members and coach other underwriters
• Conduct AML and KYC checks in line with regulatory requirements and internal policies
• Perform Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for higher-risk cases
• Pass internal competency tests post induction
