Job summary

West One Loans is seeking a Senior Underwriter – Commercial in Manchester to own the end-to-end lending process for commercial finance cases. You will manage relationships with intermediaries, ensure compliance with lending criteria, and support the team with underwriting expertise.

The role requires strong FCA knowledge, AML/KYC experience, and a proactive, detail-focused mindset to thrive in a fast-paced lending environment.

Qualifications

• Experience underwriting in commercial finance.
• Strong understanding of FCA regulation.

Responsibilities

• Manage the lending process from application to drawdown in line with underwriting procedures.
• Maintain and prioritise a pipeline of Commercial cases.
• Develop and maintain key intermediary relationships.
• Ensure all applications comply with West One lending criteria.
• Liaise with internal teams and external parties to manage the lending process.
• Instruct solicitors post-offer and provide relevant documentation.
• Support and coach other underwriters.
• Adhere to TCF and responsible lending principles.
• Demonstrate deep underwriting knowledge and judgment.
• Assist wider team as needed.
• Perform AML/KYC checks per regulatory requirements and internal policies.
