Job summary

Eventus Legal in Manchester seeks an experienced Commercial Litigation Solicitor to join a well-established private practice firm on a full-time, permanent basis. The role offers a salary of £45,000 to £70,000, hybrid working, and a comprehensive benefits package including 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, 5% pension, life cover, and a bonus scheme.

You will manage a varied caseload of commercial disputes, draft pleadings, conduct legal research, and contribute to business development

Qualifications

• Experience running own complex commercial litigation caseload.
• Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills.
• Strong client care skills with the confidence to engage with business owners, senior stakeholders and external professionals.
• Effective business development and mentoring skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines and a varied caseload.

Responsibilities

• Managing your own caseload of commercial disputes, including contract claims and related matters.
• Assisting senior colleagues on high value, multi party and complex litigation.
• Drafting pleadings, witness statements, instructions to counsel and settlement documentation.
• Conducting legal research and preparing reports, advice notes and litigation strategies.
• Managing pre action correspondence, negotiations and ADR processes, including mediation.
• Providing pragmatic, commercially minded advice balancing legal risk with objectives.
• Attending hearings, conferences and client meetings with senior team members.
• Contributing to the team's profile through articles, presentations and networking.
• Building and maintaining long standing client relationships and mentoring juniors.
