Eventus Legal in Manchester seeks an experienced Commercial Litigation Solicitor to join a well-established private practice firm on a full-time, permanent basis. The role offers a salary of £45,000 to £70,000, hybrid working, and a comprehensive benefits package including 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, 5% pension, life cover, and a bonus scheme.

You will manage a varied caseload of commercial disputes, draft pleadings, conduct legal research, and contribute to business development

Responsibilities

• Managing your own caseload of commercial disputes, including contract claims and related matters.
• Assisting senior colleagues on high value, multi party and complex litigation.
• Drafting pleadings, witness statements, instructions to counsel and settlement documentation.
• Conducting legal research and preparing reports, advice notes and litigation strategies.
• Managing pre action correspondence, negotiations and ADR processes, including mediation.
• Providing pragmatic, commercially minded advice balancing legal risk with objectives.
• Attending hearings, conferences and client meetings with senior team members.
• Contributing to the team's profile through articles, presentations and networking.
• Building and maintaining long standing client relationships and mentoring juniors.

Eventus Legal are seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Solicitor to join a well-established private practice law firm in Manchester, Greater Manchester, on a full-time, permanent basis. Offering a salary of £45,000 to £70,000 depending on experience, this Manchester based Commercial Litigation Solicitor job also offers hybrid working, standard office hours of 9am to 5.30pm, and an outstanding benefits package including 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), 5% pension contribution, life cover, bonus scheme and much more. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Associate, or an experienced Associate ready to take their first step up, to build a varied caseload of complex commercial disputes within a supportive and collaborative team.

About the Role

As the incoming Commercial Litigation Solicitor, you will play a key role in handling a broad range of commercial disputes for a varied client base, while contributing to the development of the wider team. Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing your own caseload of commercial disputes, including contract claims, shareholder and director disputes, professional negligence, debt recovery and breach of warranty matters
• Assisting senior colleagues on high value, multi party and complex litigation
• Drafting pleadings, witness statements, instructions to counsel and settlement documentation
• Conducting legal research and preparing reports, advice notes and litigation strategies
• Managing pre action correspondence, negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes, including mediation
• Providing pragmatic, commercially minded advice that balances legal risk with commercial objectives
• Attending hearings, conferences and client meetings alongside senior members of the team
• Contributing to the team's profile through articles, presentations, training and networking
• Building and maintaining long standing client relationships and supporting cross departmental collaboration
• Mentoring junior colleagues within the team

About You

To be considered for this Commercial Litigation Senior Associate job, you will be an experienced Commercial Litigation Associate or Senior Associate with a strong technical grounding in dispute resolution and the confidence to manage your own complex caseload. You will also have:

• Experience running your own complex commercial litigation caseload
• Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills
• Strong client care skills, with the confidence to engage with business owners, senior stakeholders and external professionals
• Effective business development and mentoring skills
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines and a varied caseload
