Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is recruiting a Commercial Manager to lead the commercial management of major infrastructure projects in the energy and utilities sector. Based in Hampshire, you will oversee contract administration, forecasting, and financial reporting while mentoring the commercial team.

The role requires senior experience in construction or infrastructure, strong NEC knowledge, and proven ability to drive profitable delivery.

Qualifications

• Extensive senior commercial experience in construction, civil engineering or infrastructure.
• Experience leading and developing commercial teams.
• Strong understanding of NEC contracts and contract administration.
• Proven ability to forecast, report and manage project finances.
• Experience managing subcontractors, variations and compensation events.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of projects from inception to completion.
• Oversee commercial performance, profitability and financial reporting.
• Manage and develop the commercial team, including Quantity Surveyors.
• Review CVRs, forecasts and cost-to-complete reports.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, payments and final accounts.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
• Provide commercial guidance to operational teams.
• Lead client relationships and commercial negotiations.
• Ensure contractual compliance and maximise recovery.
• Support business development, tendering and pre-construction activities.
