Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a Commercial Manager for the A66 NTP Scheme, based in Penrith, Cumbria. You will lead the commercial and financial success of major highway projects, manage risk, procurement and contract administration as part of the project delivery team.

The role requires Chartered status or progressing towards it, and significant experience in a similar contractor environment. You will mentor others and contribute to project governance and value engineering.

Qualifications

• The candidate should hold a leading professional qualification in cost and contract management.
• Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB (or working towards) is essential.
• Experience with main or principal contracting environments is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial management from inception to tendering, negotiation and contract award.
• Lead the commercial team and drive project profitability and risk management.
• Coordinate procurement, contract administration and supply chain activities.
• Prepare estimates, tenders and ensure alignment with specifications.
