Job summary

Balfour Beatty is recruiting a Senior Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function across a portfolio of Civils, Building, P-way and Signalling works in the Wales & Western region. You will partner with the programme director and finance manager to drive governance, optimise margins and grow client engagements.

You will oversee a commercial team of around 20 surveyors, ensuring robust risk management and effective cost reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
• Experience in Rail or Civil Engineering sectors.
• Experience with NEC contracts (Option A, C & E).
• Experience of large, multi-site projects (£50m+).

Responsibilities

• Lead across the project lifecycle from work winning to delivery.
• Manage and develop a commercial team of around 20 surveyors.
• Ensure governance, budget control and margin maximisation.
• Provide commercial input into procurement, risk, and value engineering.
• Report progress to senior divisional staff and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with planning, estimating, marketing and sales teams.
