Job summary

Proftech Talent is seeking a Lead CNC Programmer & Technical Mentor in Solihull. The role combines advanced CNC milling programming, setting and operation with mentoring apprentices to develop practical engineering skills.

You will work to high standards of safety and quality, reading drawings, interpreting specs, and applying appropriate feeds and speeds while supporting continuous improvement across the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Experienced CNC Milling Programmer/Setter/Operator.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Proficient with Fanuc/G-code and Haas controllers.
• Experience mentoring apprentices in a workshop environment.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate CNC Milling machines to produce precision components safely.
• Read engineering drawings and specifications across materials.
• Supervise trainee setups and coach apprentices to develop skills.
• Mentor apprentices and transfer knowledge.
• Promote 6S standards and safe working practices.
• Support continuous improvement in productivity and quality.
