Job summary

THOMAS Professional are recruiting an experienced Senior CNC Machinist to join a well-established precision engineering manufacturer based in Stroud on a Double Day Shift pattern. You will set and operate CNC machining centres to produce high-precision components and take ownership of machining processes.

You will optimise machining processes, read engineering drawings, perform first-off and in-process inspections, mentor junior machinists, and contribute to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist within a precision engineering environment.
• Strong CNC setting and operating experience.
• Excellent understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerances.
• Experience carrying out quality inspections using measuring equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and support less experienced team members.

Responsibilities

• Setting and operating CNC machining centres to produce high-precision components.
• Optimising machining processes to maximise efficiency and quality.
• Making programme offsets and tooling adjustments where required.
• Reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspection checks.
• Troubleshooting machining issues and supporting continuous improvement activities.
• Supporting and mentoring junior machinists when required.
• Maintaining high standards of quality, housekeeping and health & safety.
• Working closely with Team Leaders, Production and Quality teams to achieve production targets.

THOMAS Professional are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior CNC Machinist to join a well-established precision engineering manufacturer based in Stroud, working on a Double Day Shift pattern.

Role Responsibilities
