Job summary

THOMAS Professional in Redditch is seeking a skilled CNC Setter/Operator to join a well-established precision engineering team. You will set and operate CNC lathes and milling machines, producing components to engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities include tool changes, offsets, and machine adjustments, plus inspection using metrology equipment to ensure quality. A clean, safe, modern manufacturing environment and ongoing development opportunities are provided.

Role Responsibilities

As a CNC Setter/Operator, your responsibilities will include:

• Setting and operating CNC lathes and/or milling machines


• Producing precision-engineered components to engineering drawings and specifications


• Performing tool changes, offsets and machine adjustments


• Inspecting components using a range of measuring equipment


• Maintaining high quality standards throughout the production process


• Working to production schedules while ensuring quality and efficiency


• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment


• Working closely with Production and Quality teams to achieve manufacturing targets

The Person

The successful CNC Setter/Operator will ideally have:

• Previous CNC Setting and Operating experience


• Experience working within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment


• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings


• Experience using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers and gauges


• Good understanding of machining tolerances and quality standards


• Strong attention to detail


• Positive attitude and excellent work ethic


• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
