Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Lead Solution Architect to shape software platforms used by engineers globally. You will drive architectural direction across a diverse portfolio, promoting innovation, scalability and engineering excellence. This is a transformation-focused role, not purely delivery.

You'll mentor teams, guide cloud and SDLC practices, and influence decisions across multiple projects. Hybrid UK role with 2–3 days in the office and global collaboration.

Qualifications

Experience designing distributed, cloud-based software solutions in Azure, AWS, or similar environments.
Proven architectural leadership across multiple applications or teams.
Strong knowledge of modern software practices including CI/CD and cloud-native development.

Responsibilities

Provide architectural leadership across a broad portfolio of software products.
Translate business needs into robust, scalable, and secure solutions.
Guide decision-making, mentor teams, review designs, and establish SDLC and CI/CD practices.
Engage at detailed level on designs, PoCs, and complex technical challenges.
Influence technical direction across multiple teams.
