Job summary

Jacobs in the United Kingdom is seeking a Lead Solution Architect to shape the architectural direction of cloud-based software platforms. You will translate business needs into robust, scalable, and secure solutions, guiding decisions across multiple engineering teams.

You'll mentor engineers, review designs, and drive best practices in CI/CD, cloud-native development, and software delivery lifecycle. This permanent, hybrid role is UK-based with office collaboration and travel as required.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and delivering distributed, cloud-based software solutions in Azure, AWS, or similar.
• Proven track record of providing architectural leadership across multiple applications or teams.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, cloud-native development, and SDLC principles.
• Experience mentoring engineers without direct line management.
• Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide architectural leadership across a broad portfolio of software products and services.
• Translate business needs into robust, scalable, and secure solutions.
• Guide architectural decision-making and mentor engineering teams.
• Review solution designs and establish consistent approaches to software delivery, cloud architecture, CI/CD.
