Jacobs’ Design Automation team is hiring a Lead Solution Architect in the UK. You will shape architectural direction for a diverse portfolio of software products, collaborating with engineers, product leaders, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure cloud solutions.

This role emphasizes leadership, mentoring, and architectural governance across multiple teams. While not hands-on development, you will review designs, develop proof-of-concepts, and guide teams through cloud-native practices,

Qualifications

• Experienced software or solution architect who has designed and delivered complex cloud-based software platforms.
• Proven track record leading architectural decisions across multiple applications/teams.
• Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices including CI/CD and cloud-native development.

Responsibilities

• Provide architectural leadership across a broad portfolio of software products and services.
• Mentor engineering teams and influence technical direction without direct line management.
• Review solution designs and establish consistent approaches to software development, cloud architecture, and delivery.
• Engage with stakeholders to translate business needs into robust, scalable, and secure solutions.
