Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Lead Solution Architect to provide architectural leadership across a broad portfolio of software products and services in the UK. The role involves translating business needs into scalable, secure solutions, reviewing designs, and guiding cloud architecture, CI/CD, and technical delivery.

Strong leadership and communication skills are essential, with experience across SaaS or cloud-native environments.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and delivering distributed, cloud-based software solutions in Azure, AWS, or similar cloud environments.
• Proven track record of providing architectural leadership across multiple applications, products, or engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices, including CI/CD, cloud-native development, and software delivery lifecycle principles.
• Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction without direct line management responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide architectural leadership across a broad portfolio of software products and services.
• Translate business needs into robust, scalable, and secure solutions.
• Review solution designs and establish consistent approaches to software development, cloud architecture, and delivery.
• Mentor engineering teams and influence architectural direction across multiple teams.
• Engage with technical stakeholders and contribute to proof-of-concept work when needed.
