Job summary

Standard Life is seeking a principal-level cloud platform engineer to guide the engineering direction for our cloud contact services across AWS, Amazon Connect and Salesforce Voice. You will set strategy, guardrails and lead cross‑functional teams to deliver secure, resilient, scalable solutions.

You will own the platform standards, drive automation with IaC and CI/CD, and ensure alignment with security, regulatory and cost controls across enterprise deployments.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on AWS platform engineering with enterprise-scale impact.
• Strong knowledge of Amazon Connect architecture and Salesforce Voice integration.
• Infrastructure as code, CI/CD, APIs, serverless and event-driven services.
• Proven leadership: set technical strategy, influence senior stakeholders, maintain standards.

Responsibilities

• Own the engineering direction, platform standards and roadmaps for cloud contact services.
• Design secure, resilient Amazon Connect services and telephony integration with Salesforce.
• Lead integration between Amazon Connect and Salesforce Voice, ensuring coherent agent experiences.
• Build reusable infrastructure and deployment automation with IaC, CI/CD, APIs and scripting.
• Govern AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, S3, DynamoDB, Kinesis, CloudWatch, IAM, KMS).
• Define observability and service management with metrics, logs, dashboards and incident response.
• Embed security, privacy, compliance, and cost controls into platform designs.
