Job summary

Standard Life plc in the UK seeks a Principal-level engineer to own the cloud contact platform across AWS, Amazon Connect and Salesforce Voice. You will set strategy, ensure security and cost controls, and lead cross‑functional collaboration across product, architecture, security, and operations to deliver enterprise-scale outcomes.

You will drive infrastructure as code, deployment automation and resilient design while guiding stakeholders to lasting technical direction and best practices.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on platform engineering in AWS for enterprise-scale services.
• Strong knowledge of Amazon Connect architecture, telephony, routing and security.
• Experience integrating Amazon Connect with Salesforce Voice or similar.
• Infrastructure as code, CI/CD, APIs and event-driven services.
• Observability, automated testing and secure software delivery practices.
• Proven principal-level leadership, setting technical strategy and standards.
• Ability to balance delivery with maintainability and risk across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical vision and platform standards for cloud customer contact services.
• Design and deliver secure, resilient Amazon Connect services and telephony integration.
• Lead integration of Amazon Connect with Salesforce Voice and wider Salesforce platform.
• Build reusable infrastructure and deployment automation using IaC and CI/CD.
• Govern AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, etc.) for integrations and analytics.
• Define observability and service management across the platform with dashboards and monitoring.
• Embed security, privacy, compliance, auditability and cost controls into designs.
• Act as technical authority, chair reviews and guide stakeholders to the agreed direction.
