Job summary

Standard Life plc is seeking a principal-level engineer to own the cloud contact platform across AWS, Amazon Connect and Salesforce Voice. You will set strategy, guardrails and ensure secure, scalable delivery across product, architecture, security, risk and operations teams.

You will lead cross-functional collaboration, drive architectural decisions, and build reusable infrastructure to enable faster, safer deployments while maintaining regulatory compliance and cost controls.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on AWS platform engineering with enterprise-scale impact.
• Experience with Amazon Connect architecture, telephony, security and resilience.
• Experience integrating Amazon Connect with Salesforce Voice or Service Cloud.
• Infrastructure as code, CI/CD, APIs, serverless and event-driven services.
• Strong observability, automated testing and secure software delivery practices.
• Proven principal-level leadership, setting technical strategy and standards.
• Ability to influence multiple teams and stakeholders without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Own technical vision, roadmap and platform standards for cloud contact services (AWS, Amazon Connect, Salesforce Voice).
• Design secure, resilient Amazon Connect services including flows, routing and telephony integration.
• Lead integration of Amazon Connect with Salesforce Voice and broader Salesforce platform.
• Build reusable infrastructure and deployment automation using IaC, CI/CD, APIs and scripting.
• Govern AWS services like Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, S3, DynamoDB, Kinesis, CloudWatch, IAM, KMS.
