Job summary

NiCE is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer to design, implement, and operate complex AWS cloud environments. You will run containerized workloads on EKS and ECS, maintain production Linux systems and databases, and contribute to reliability, security, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/IT preferred (or related engineering field).
• Strong hands-on AWS experience with EC2, EKS/ECS, RDS/Aurora.
• Solid Linux administration, Bash/Python scripting, performance tuning.
• Proficiency with Terraform and configuration management (Puppet).
• Experience with CI/CD and observability tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate scalable, secure AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Drive reliability and performance of containerized apps on EKS/ECS, including cluster operations and scaling.
• Maintain production Linux environments and databases for high availability and security.
• Strengthen cloud security posture through IAM and network controls, secrets management.
• Improve platform observability with monitoring and logging using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Own production incidents, participate in on-call rotations, and drive RCA and improvements.
• Collaborate with software engineering, DevOps, and platform teams to optimize deployments.
• Identify cloud cost optimization opportunities through right-sizing and governance.
