Job summary

BT Group is seeking an experienced IT leader to oversee the delivery, stability and continuous improvement of critical business applications and IT services across Enterprise Cloud. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, driving high-quality operational support and alignment with business needs.

You’ll shape governance, technology planning and automation initiatives, ensuring resilience, security and scalable operations to support growth.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of operations teams within a complex, business-critical environment.
• Experience owning large-scale enterprise estates and mission-critical environments.
• Track record delivering modernisation and automation programmes in IT operations.
• Experience managing operational risk, resilience, incident management and disaster recovery.
• Strong supplier-management experience with major technology vendors.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Enterprise Cloud Operations team responsible for database services, compute, storage, backup and core infrastructure platforms.
• Oversee IT production deployments and ensure release, testing and resolution processes are followed.
• Own operational performance, availability, monitoring, capacity and resilience of infrastructure services.
• Establish procedures and engineering practices that promote automation and repeatability.
• Drive adoption of automation to reduce manual effort and risk.
• Ensure robust backup, recovery, disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities are maintained.
• Lead major incidents, guiding rapid recovery and long-term corrective actions.
• Build and develop a high-performing operational engineering team with ownership culture.
• Manage third-party suppliers, contracts, licensing and budget.
