Job summary
BT Group in Birmingham is seeking a Software Engineering Specialist to lead the technical implementation of complex software solutions across hybrid infrastructure, including cloud and on‑prem environments. You will shape engineering standards and influence the technical roadmap, working closely with architects and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable products and services.
You will mentor engineers, drive operational excellence, and champion engineering practices in an Agile delivery
Qualifications
- Experience leading the implementation of complex software products in Agile environments.
- Ability to learn new languages and modern engineering practices, including IaC.
- Ability to influence decisions and collaborate with architects and multiple teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering strategy, shaping standards and ways of working across products.
- Influence technology choices and implementation approaches with architects and stakeholders.
- Shape technical roadmaps to align investment with customer outcomes and platform evolution.
- Deliver high-quality, scalable software while improving reliability and observability.
- Mentor engineers and promote engineering excellence and knowledge sharing.
