Job summary

Quantum Motion in London is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join the Cloud Engineering Team. You will design, build, and operate scalable cloud services to support production workloads across hybrid infrastructure, bridging on-site and cloud environments.

The role is based with our Islington hub, offering a path to shaping the future of quantum computing. You will own automation, IaC, security, and monitoring, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to accelerate quantum computing

Qualifications

Proven track record deploying production-grade, scalable workloads on AWS.
Expert-level Terraform and CloudFormation for modular infra.
Solid knowledge of high-performance cloud storage (EFS, EBS, FSx).
Proficiency with Enterprise Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) and troubleshooting.
Python or Bash for automation tooling and scripting.
Deep understanding of IAM patterns including AD/LDAP integration.

Responsibilities

Design, provision, and manage large-scale, highly available cloud infrastructure for compute-heavy workloads.
Implement and maintain modular IaC (Terraform or CloudFormation) for secure, low-latency environments.
Architect and maintain high-performance cloud storage, ensuring backups and throughput.
Automate deployment, configuration, and auto-scaling of workloads and core services.
Enforce Zero Trust security and automated config management for hardened OS images.
Mentor junior team members and document automated workflows.
