Job summary

8x8 UK Ltd. is seeking a Senior Firewall / Security Network Engineer to own the design, delivery and operation of firewall and network-security across on-prem data centers and cloud. The role is hands-on, focusing on hybrid/cloud architecture and ongoing changes to keep services secure.

You will drive migration to FortiGate, manage policy and change processes, and coordinate with SecOps, cloud and infra teams to maintain availability and compliance.

Qualifications

• Hands-on FortiGate/FortiOS expertise.
• Cloud network security design in AWS/OCI and hybrid on-prem/cloud.
• Disciplined change management: implementation, testing, rollback.
• Strong connectivity troubleshooting across the packet path (drops, TLS, DNS, routing).
• Translate requirements into secure, standardized firewall policy.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver the firewall/security layer for cloud and hybrid connectivity.
• Own route/prefix and policy design across cloud and on-prem boundaries.
• Translate connectivity requests into clean firewall policies.
• Lead migrations to FortiGate and plan quarterly upgrades.
• Triage connectivity incidents and manage OOB firewall access.
• Integrate firewalls with logging, SIEM, and monitoring.
