Job summary

8x8 UK Ltd. is seeking a Senior Firewall / Security Network Engineer to own the design, delivery, and operation of the firewall and security estate across on‑prem data centers and cloud environments (AWS, OCI).

This hands‑on senior role will establish the firewall architecture for hybrid connectivity and manage day‑to‑day changes and incidents to keep the business secure. You'll migrate a multi‑vendor estate to FortiGate, incorporating the cloud security layer essential for the AWS migration,

Qualifications

Hands-on FortiGate/FortiOS expertise with VDOMs, policies, NAT, SSL inspection.
Cloud network security design for AWS and OCI, and hybrid on-prem/cloud flows.
Disciplined change management: implementation, testing, rollback, peer review.
Strong connectivity troubleshooting across the packet path (drops, TLS, DNS, routing).
Ability to translate requirements into secure, standardized firewall policy.

Responsibilities

Design and deliver firewall/security layer for cloud and hybrid connectivity in AWS, OCI, and on-prem.
Own route/prefix and policy design to enable secure cross-site workloads.
Lead migrations to FortiGate with policy review, rebuild, and cutover.
Plan quarterly firewall upgrades and hardware refreshes with minimal disruption.
Manage IPsec/site-to-site migrations and firewall decommissioning.
