Senior Cloud Billing Analyst

Location: Berkshire
Department: Finance

The opportunity

We are partnering with a leading UK technology solutions business to appoint a Senior Cloud Billing Analyst to its expanding Finance team.

The organisation's cloud and consumption-based services are growing rapidly, creating a need for increasingly sophisticated billing processes. This role will take ownership of complex monthly billing activity across multiple vendors, ensuring that large volumes of usage data are accurately validated, reconciled and converted into customer invoices.

Alongside managing business-as-usual billing, you will help improve the systems and processes supporting this growing area. You will act as a subject-matter expert for colleagues, customers and senior stakeholders, providing clear analysis and resolving complex billing queries.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, solving problems and improving processes within a fast-paced technology environment.

Key responsibilities
  • Deliver accurate and timely monthly billing cycles, including data preparation, validation, reconciliation and billing-run execution.
  • Manage complex, high-volume datasets relating to cloud and consumption-based products.
  • Lead the continued development and optimisation of billing processes, supporting growth, scalability and improved KPI performance.
  • Investigate billing issues, complete root-cause analysis and provide senior Finance stakeholders with clear findings and actionable recommendations.
  • Act as a cloud-billing subject-matter expert and workstream lead for end-to-end billing programmes and other cross-functional projects.
  • Partner with Finance, Sales and operational stakeholders to assess and implement initiatives with billing implications.
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for sales teams and customers, helping them understand and resolve billing queries.
  • Identify and deliver process improvements that increase accuracy, efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Support half-year and year-end audits by preparing analysis and documentation and acting as a key contact for external auditors.
  • Help strengthen controls, data quality and reporting across the wider billing function.
About you

You will ideally bring:

  • At least five years' experience within IT, telecommunications or a similar fast-paced technology environment.
  • Strong billing operations experience, ideally involving cloud, usage-based, subscription or consumption billing.
  • Excellent analytical skills and confidence interpreting and communicating complex financial information.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.
  • Experience reviewing and improving billing systems, controls and processes.
  • A proven ability to investigate complex issues, identify root causes and deliver practical solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder-management, communication and influencing skills, including experience engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • A proactive, organised and results-focused approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • The confidence to lead workstreams, share expertise and contribute positively to a collaborative team environment.
  • A genuine interest in continuous improvement and professional development.
Desirable experience
  • Oracle NetSuite or another major ERP system.
  • Power BI, SQL or process-automation tools.
  • Vendor billing and reconciliation.
  • Multi-vendor cloud or consumption-based billing models.
The organisation

You will be joining an established and growing UK technology business with a people-focused culture. The organisation encourages its employees to take ownership, develop their careers and make a visible contribution to its continued success.
