Job summary

Invesco is seeking a Principal Architect to lead cloud architecture across Digital Platforms, shaping strategic AWS-based solutions and end-to-end platform design. You will set standards, oversee complex programs, and collaborate with central Cloud and DevSecOps teams to ensure secure, scalable outcomes.

The role combines hands-on solution design with architectural leadership, mentoring engineers and influencing multiple teams to deliver enterprise-grade outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related discipline
• Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect) desirable
• Extensive experience in cloud architecture and engineering

Responsibilities

• Own and define the cloud architecture strategy for Digital Platforms across web, servicing, and internal tools, aligned to enterprise cloud direction
• Lead the architecture and delivery of complex AWS-based solutions, covering applications, integrations, and infrastructure
• Design end-to-end architectures integrating AEM, edge/CDN platforms (e.g., Fastly), APIs, and backend cloud services
• Establish and govern cloud standards, reference architectures, and reusable patterns across Digital Platforms
• Define and enforce non-functional requirements including security, performance, scalability, resilience, and cost optimisation
• Partner with central Cloud and DevSecOps teams to align on AWS platform capabilities, pipelines, security controls, and operating models
• Translate business requirements and product roadmaps into scalable, secure, and maintainable technical solutions
• Provide architectural oversight and assurance across multiple teams, ensuring adherence to standards and design principles
• Mentor architects and senior engineers, contributing to the development of architectural capability and best practices across the domain
