Job summary

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Worker to join our Acute Medicine teams. This part-time role is 36 hours per week with long days, late long days, twilight and night shifts at Royal Stoke University Hospital.

The role requires experience as a Healthcare Assistant, plus qualification requirements including Numeracy/Literacy Level 1, Care Certificate and NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Care. Visa sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• 12 months experience in a professional contract as a Healthcare Assistant or equivalent.
• Numeracy/Literacy Level 1 (GCSE 2-3 or equivalent) or overseas IELTS/OETS as specified.
• Care Certificate or completion within 12 weeks of starting employment.
• NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Care or willing to complete if required.

Responsibilities

• Provide fundamental elements of patient care as directed by the nursing team.
• Work across Royal Stoke University Hospital, including long days, twilights and nights.
• Take clinical observations and venepuncture; monitor vitals and patient status.
• Support and assist new staff; participate in buddy system and care certificate supervision.
