Qualifications

• Numeracy/Literacy skills to Level 1 (GCSE Grade 2-3, D-F or equivalent) IELTS or OETS (Overall score of C1) accepted for overseas applicants (Level 7 in Listening/speaking/reading & Level 6.5 in Writing)
• Care Certificate or must complete within 12 weeks of commencing employment
• NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Care/Equivalent qualification or willing/required to complete if successful (If applicant has 3 years or more care experience this is voluntary)

Responsibilities

• The primary role of a Senior Clinical Support Worker is to assist, support and work in collaboration with the Registered Nurse and the wider multidisciplinary team; in order to provide a safe and holistic approach to person-centred care
• The Senior Clinical Support Worker should actively contribute to the health and well‑being of patients, staff and service users and be able to communicate effectively with sensitivity and compassion.
• They should be able to work independently within their sphere of nursing while under the supervision of registered nurses.
• Senior Clinical Support Workers should demonstrate a level of skill and understanding which enables them to undertake specific skills and tasks delegated by the registere n nurse and in accordance with relevant procedures, guidelines and policies at UHNM.
• They will be required to undertake both routine and specially identified tasks for which they have been trained and assessed as competent. Key to this role is flexibility with the requirement for staff to work variable shifts over 7 days a week on a week‑by‑week basis within agreed limits
