Job description

Senior Clinical Fellow (STR3+ equivalent)

This is a new full-time Senior Clinical Fellow post for 6 months in response to service needs.

This 6-month post is based in the Department of Neurology as a Senior Clinical Fellow (ST3/IMT3 equivalent). The postholder will work alongside neurology trainees and junior doctors, with responsibilities including:

  1. Clerking non-elective patients admitted under neurology
  2. Providing clinical support in the care and management of neurology inpatients under supervision
  3. Completing discharge summaries

The ability to perform lumbar punctures is highly desirable.

The postholder will participate in the neurology on-call rota, which involves day shifts on Saturdays and Sundays, one weekend in six, under supervision.

Provision will be made for participation in outpatient neurology clinics. There is a weekly departmental educational meeting, and an excellent neuroradiology meeting every Thursday morning discussing inpatient neuroradiology.

Some GIM work will also be undertaken, currently in 2-week blocks in acute medicine, with an expectation of completing two such blocks during the 6-month period.

Applicants unable to undertake full-time duties will be considered equally, with job modifications made in consultation with colleagues and management.

We welcome applications regardless of age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, race, or religion. Candidates with disabilities will be offered interviews if they meet the minimum criteria. The Trust supports job sharing and flexible working.
