This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Trust as a Senior Clinical Fellow within our excellent Acute Medicine department. There are two fixed-term posts available: one for 18 months and one starting ASAP until August 2024. The Senior Clinical Fellow will have opportunities to further their knowledge through exposure to clinics, ward rounds, multidisciplinary team meetings, and formal teaching. The post holders will be encouraged to participate in audits, presentations, and teachings. Additionally, we offer a weekly specialty skill session aligned to the successful applicants' personal development plan. These posts are particularly aligned with the attainment of the new IM3 level competencies, which are required for application to higher specialty medical training in the UK. Study leave and funding are available.
Managing elective and emergency patients alongside colleagues. Initial resuscitation and management of all emergency patients presenting to the department. Initiating necessary investigations and referring patients to relevant on-call specialist teams when indicated. The role involves caring for patients on the AMU, participating in the general medicine rota, supporting the on-call medical team with new admissions and out-of-hours cover, and attending bespoke specialty skill sessions aligned with personal development plans.
